Having abandoned my attempt at a marathon three years ago due to injury, I am now charging myself with getting back in the running shorts. I'm out of shape, overweight, and very unhappy about it. Watch me change!

What the heck? My left calf hurts so bad that I limp when I try to run. Something tells me I shouldn't try to run through this. Not this week! Not so close to the marathon! I HAVE to do the long run this week!

Who am I Anyway?
I am a 49-year-old, non-runner who has a crazy notion that I want to run a marathon. Partly spurred on by my sister, I intend to participate in the Detroit Free Press Marathon on October 19, 2008. This will be my chance to do something that I still can't really visualize myself doing, and I'll do it before I turn 50. This blog will chronicle the ups, downs, ins, and outs of my journey from complete physical inactivity to the world of marathoning. Okay, quit laughing.............
